Pause Points, The Mercury Mall, Romford

Clients: The Mercury Mall

Budget: Circa 20k

Stages: 1 – 7

Challenges: A large space and a limited budget to make an impact on the Mall's environment whilst prioritising our client's inclusivity aims. | Status: We undertook a strategic urban design assessment before locating the seating areas in what would be the most effective points for access and impact. We proposed a concept of 'Sensory Pause Points' which would work with the Mall's brand as a community-focused and inclusive environment which could be implemented in 2 phases. The Mall has now completed Phase 1 of the Pause Points which incorporate sensory design with emphasis on accessibility for those with special needs.
